MECCAward leading team in Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program

The delegation comprising of Senior Consultants of ICRIC Mr. Hassan Farouzfard, and Mr. Farshid Shokrekhodaee, and Dr. Hussein Fakhari, Deputy Director of the ICRIC, were briefed by Maryam Al Serkal, Credit Rating Team Leader and Member of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award Steering Committee, about the selection of target markets and segments as well as the model of work along with the type of information provided and methods of delivering to customers.
The Dubai Chamber team stressed upon the delegates the importance of corporate credit risk which every businessman/investor is ought to take into account while dealing with other businesses and companies, mainly new ones, to ensure safe transactions and financial creditability of everyone they deal with. The team also underlined the risk factor the businessmen and companies might face while dealing with other firms who may have no credit records because credit records help investors effectively promote their companies upon getting into new investments.
"Operating under affiliation of the French Organization - Coface, the Credit Rating Unit of Dubai Chamber has developed a database that provides authentic and up-to-date information about 50 million companies from all over the world, which enhances the business of importers, bankers and all those involved in financial services," said Maryam Al Serkal, Credit Rating Unit Team Leader, adding that the presentation also focused on the importance of corporate credit control, mainly in the financial establishments and the need to have clear and honest information about business partners' credits which consequently helps in attracting foreign investments and supports the powerful position of companies in the international business community.
 
Dr. Mohammed Emir and Krishna Murthy, Award Experts at Dubai Chamber introduced the Iranian delegation to firsthand information about Dubai Chamber’s experience in setting up and conducting the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award right from the project design, the Award application path as well as its current status of being a model award for the business community irrespective of the emirate or business they operate in.
 
The delegation came in on behalf of the Islamic Chamber Research and Information Center (ICRIC) for the pilot phase of an international project for all 57 member states of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) being organized in collaboration with Islamic Development Bank (IDB). Meanwhile, the ICRIC, in collaboration with Iran Chamber of Commerce and national Quality awards of Muslim countries, is now responsible for Muslim Excellence and Competitiveness Corporations' Award (MECCAward) and other projects such as HALAL mark, Islamic Countries Credit Rating System (IC-CRS) and Islamic Countries Productivity Measurement Center.
 
Also the same team had very successful meeting with leaders of Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program affiliated to Ministry of Development for Government Sector. Mainly both parties focused on identifying area for collaboration relevant to MECCAward and SKGEP. Dr. Ali A. T. Bin Obood, under secretary of ministry and Dr. Abdel Rahim Jallad, Excellence Programs Expert presented their intentions and plans for governmental organizations of UAE – target market of their program and positively declared their willingness for supporting MECCAward idea within all 57 member states of OIC.
