MECCAward in Muritania Meeting of ICCI
The third meeting of ICCI Board of Directors was held on 25th of April, 2007 in Nouakchott in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. In that meeting Iran's ICCI representative requested a report from ICRIC (Islamic Chamber Research and Information Center) on its activities and projects, which was approved and put in the general assembly's agenda by the Board of Directors.
Accordingly on 26th of April in ICCI general assembly meeting and in the presence of delegations from different countries as well as ICRIC's representative, a thorough report was given on MECCAward, CRS and IWTD projects.
MECCAward will be held annually and shall be hosted by Islamic countries in the future. It is noteworthy that the ceremony of the first MECCAward will be conducted on 11th August, 2007, which would coincide with Prophet Muhammad's Mab'asth (appointment to prophet hood). In addition to (and following) the award ceremony, the First Business Excellence Conference of Islamic Countries will be held in the presence of business excellence experts from muslim countries in Tehran, Iran.
It was therefore agreed that all ICCIs in coordination with each country's National Quality Award should recommend two national award-winner companies until 5th of May. The companies will participate in the MECCAward founders meeting which will be held on 23rd & 24th of June in Tehran.
