Muslim Excellence & Competitiveness Corporations' Award

Looking through the history of establishment & development of different organizations in national & international levels approves their non-governmental and non-profitable essence as well as their efficiency which results in their stability and success.

In this respect, the approaches which Islamic Chamber Research & Information Center emphasizes on are taking advantage of available potentials among Muslim Excellence Corporations which hold MECCAward.
The first Seminar of Muslim Excellence Corporations hosted by Iran was held in 12th August, 2007, which created convergence and necessary commitments among the participants and improved their rate and Award criteria.
Muslims Excellence & Competitiveness Corporations’ Award

Considering the important role of national and international quality and excellence award for development and higher achievements of economic agencies and also taking advantage of acquired experiences in designing and implementing quality award models in a variety of countries and organizations such as Europe Excellence Award (EEA), Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) in USA, and some Islamic countries (i.e. Iran,Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt , Oman and …) brought the board members of ICRIC to approve the following issues in their meeting dated September, 2006 :

· Presenting “Muslims Excellence & Competitiveness Corporations’ Award” from 2007 annually.

· ICRIC would be responsible for all aspects of presenting Muslims Excellence Competitiveness Corporation Award.

· Award secretariat will be in Tehran.

· Different levels of MECCA award will cover all areas of manufacturers and service organizations.

· Different levels of MECCA award will be a motive factor for Islamic countries and determines a path for progress and globalization.

· Half of Islamic countries are now taking advantages of national and regional awards, which their winners will be participants of MECCA.

· Training and information services would be the basic part of the award.

· Sharing successful experiences of MECCA winners with all Islamic countries would be a major task & responsibility of award organizers.

· Taking advantages of all potential abilities of ICCI members.

 

MECCAward quality scheme was first proposed by a group of senior assessors from Iran's National Quality Award (INQA) to Islamic Chamber of Research and Information Center (ICRIC) in 2006. Following the negotiations made with other members of Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), the award was finalized in September 2006. ICRIC has been henceforth assigned as the executive director of the Award.

1.To perform a leading role in enhancing the efficiency of Islamic countries organizations.  
2.To take advantage of the Muslim world potentials to develop and advance excellence culture.
3.To encourage organizations to perform self assessment operations, using experiences of qualified Islamic organizations in order to recognize their own merits as well as needed improvements.
4.To improve Muslim-country organizations' competitiveness in international trading and to increase their compatibility with global markets.
5.To improve quality and productivity levels and to achieve sustainable economic progress among Islamic countries.
6.To recognize and praise the most successful organizations of Islamic world.
7.To promulgate Islamic values in business and at international levels.
